German angler Michael Schneider was back at Palm Tree this month again catching some awesome fish, topped by a 150 lb+ Siamese Carp that landed him a 150 lb Palm Tree Lagoon Carp Club t-shirt. To other notable catches were 50 lb Juliens golden price carp and a big wallago leeri. In addition he also caught black shark minnow, Mekong catfish, many other Siamese carp, lots of Asian and Amazon redtail catfish, catla carp, rohu, yellow catfish, albino striped catfish, tambaui, leopard catfish, black ear catfish, giant featherback and more... |
Singaporean anglers Serene Lum and Daniel Tan returned to Palm Tree for their second visit. Daniels after joining the 150 lb Carp Club at his last visit this time joined the 300 lb Catfish Club after a four hour marathon battle. They both caught Juliens Golden Price Carp which was a new species to them. In addition they had many other awesome fish that included Siamese carp, yellowcheek carp, Salween rita catfish, wallago attu, tambaqui, alligator gar, pacu, black shark minnow, giant gourami, Asian and Amazon redtail catfish. |
After his first successful trip of the month Eddie returned for his second session vowing to up his Siamese carp pb even further and that he did with an awesome 156 lb monster which also earned him a 150 lb Palm Tree Lagoon Carp Club t-shirt. In addition to this he caught a lot of other great catches that include African walking catfish, giant gourami, wallago attu, Amazon redtail, black shark minow, yellow catfish, ripsaw catfish, chao phraya catfish, tambaqui and clown featherback. |
The infamous Mr Punch (John Harvey) returned from Pattaya with two of his mates from the UK Nicholas Billett and Leon Sprague. Nicholas target was to catch himself a big Siamese carp which he did with a 103 lb lump. Mr Punch lost the 300 lb Mekong after a two hour battle, and Leon managed to get one of the big arapaima to take the bait only to have it spat back at him 10 seconds after the strike. However they caught a huge number of fantastic fish that included a lot of mekong catfish, Siamese carp, juliens golden price carp, Amazon redtails, tambacqui, black shark minnows, rohu, big-y, catla carp, mollycot, Thai catfish shark and striped catfish. |
Carp Leads sponsored German angler Oliver Jack also thoroughly enjoyed his stay at Palm Tree Lagoon this month catching some awesome fish. These included some big Siamese carp, chao phraya catfish and Mekong catfish. Along with Amazon redtails, rohu, giant featherback, clown featherback, tambaqui, Asian redtail catfish, wallago attu and black ear catfish. |
Robert Butler made his first visit to Palm Tree during the month and was not disappointed. He managed to catch a myriad of fish that included small scale mud carp, mrigal, Mekong catfish, black ear catfish, black shark minnow, several Siamese carp, crystal eyed catfish, Amazon redtail catfish, tambaqui and albino striped catfish. |
True to his word Jason Bolton returned for his second visit in a month with his brother Stephen Brown. They had a catching spree catching loads of fish which included Siamese carp, mekong catfish, juliens golden price carp, ripsaw catfish, black shark minnow, yellow catfish, soldier river barb, Asian redtailed catfish, tambaqui, mrigal and Amazon redtails. |
Eddie Crouch returned to Palm Tree and had a successful session catching several Siamese carp up to 103 lb as well as clown featherback, tambaqui, wallago attu, Mekong catfish and lots of Amazon redtails. |
Tap of Bangkok Fishing Guide Service also brought customer to Palm Tree during the month who successfully caught some great fish including mekong catfish, Thai redtail catfish, clown featherback, black shark minnow, tambaqui, Amazon redtail, yellow catfish, Siamese carp and a big alligator gar. |
Australians Ross Keating and Rob Goodwin enjoyed a three day trip up to the majestic Khao Laem Dam and although the rohu were still out in the deep water due to the low water levels; still had a great time catching black shark minnows, java barb, yellow catfish and nandid tiger perch as well as a couple of unknown species. |

Joakim Keilgaard returned to Palm Tree during the month with a friend from Bangkok. It was all smiles as they went on to catch mekong catfish, pacu, tambaqui, Asian redtail catfish, stingray, rohu and a number of Amazon redtails. |
The guides of course had a go on their free days catching well as usual a variety of fish such as African arawana, stingray, Siamese carp, a huge black ear catfish, some baby vundu, all culminating in a 300lb+ mekong after a marathon battle. |

Khun Konnie made only a brief visit but still managed to catch a 100lb+ Siamese carp, a tambaqui which was a new species for him and some Amazon redtail catfish. |
