What a session Dan Johnson had not only joining the 300lb Catfish Club after a marathon three hour battle but also joining the 400lb Arapaipa Club with a more than awesome 465lber that succumbed after just over an hour long struggle. Australian angler Phillip Kodasinski was back for his annual visit and did not waste any time getting straight into the monster fish with a more than awesome 170lb+ Siamese carp that also qualified him for membership of the Palm Tree Lagoon BIG Carp Club. He also caught some other great catches that include Mekong catfish and Amazon redtail. |
Chris Huybrecht, Jan Gorrebeeck, Danny Lemmens and another fishing buddy had a great session catching a number of huge Mekong catfish as well as wallago attu, Siamese carp, arapiama, Juliens golden price carp, tambaqui, alligator gar, nandid tiger perch, catfish shark, yellow catfish, striped catfish, as well as both Amazon and Asian redtail. |

Roy Redhead and Michael Sutcliffe also decided to experience fishing for wild giant freshwater stingray on the Mae Klong river. They had a very successful trip catching a 1.8m 400lb river monster as well as a couple of smaller ones. |
Aaron Markland was over the moon with his catch of a more than awesome 180lb Siamese carp that gained him membership of the Palm Tree Lagoon 150lb Carp Club. He also caught Mekong catfish, striped catfish, catfish shark, a stunning black shark minnow, and both Amazon and Thai redtails. |
Austrian angler Stefan was another who got into some awesome fish topped of by a cracking Chinese black carp.Other noticeable catches were a good sized alligator gar and a 100lb+ Siames carp. He also successfully landed a number of other stunning species such as Mekong catfish, tambaqui, arapaima, black shark minnow, striped catfish, pacu, crystal eyed catfish, rohu, mollycot, as well as both Thai and Amazon redtails. |
Chris Durukal had an amazing session catching to start with two of the hardest to catch species namely wallago leeri and mad barb. He then went on to catch a huge variety of other great species like arapaima, black ear catfish, wallago attu, Siamese carp to over the 100lb mark, tambaqui, Mekong catfish, the Chinese bighead carp and Chinese silver carp double, catfish shark, giant snakehead, Mekong catfish, alligator gar, striped catfish, pacu, wallago attu, and both Asian and Amazon redtails. |
Of course the guides were at it again catching a number of Juliens golden price carp out of the Mae Klong river and releasing them into Palm Tree. Austrian angler Cenk Durukal was another angler to join the Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club on his first attempt after successfully battling a 330lb+ Mekong for a gruelling two and a half hour battle. He was also pleased with his other catches that included arapaima, Siamese carp to over a hundred pounds, giant snakehead, pacu, striped catfish, catfish shark, the rare double of both wallago attu and wallago leeri, alligator gar, black ear catfish, as well as both Amazon and Thai redtails. |
Martin Smith and his fishing mates also had a great time on their inaugural visit to Palm Tree vowing to return at the end of 2017.
