What a trip it was for Simon Reading culminating in a 160lb Siamese Carp which he hooked minutes after loosing a seven hour battle with a huge mekong catfish; just goes to show how your luck can change. He also caught a string of other impressive catches that included, three other 100lb+ Siamese, mekong catfish, tambaqui, chao phraya catfish, firewood catfish, rohu, clown featherback, juliens golden price carp, crystal eyed catfish, giraffe catfish, mollycot, black ear catfish as well as numerous Amazon and Thai redtailed catfish. |
Stuart Mack become the fastest ever member of the Palm Tree 150lb Carp club hooking and landing a 158lb one in the first 50 minutes of fishing. He then followed this up catching a variety of other awesome fish that included mekong catfish, giant gourami, mrigal, wallago attu, mollycot, as well as both Amazon and Thai redtailed catfish. |
Tap of Bangkok Fishing Guide Service was off to a great start to the month catching his customer a 302lb Mekong Catfish and earning him a Palm Tree Lagoon 300lb Catfish Club t-shirt in the process. they also caught wallago attu, ripsaw catfish and mrigal carp. |
Benny was into the big Juliens golden price carp this month, firstly catching one on the Mae Klong river and releasing it into Palm Tree, and then she caught was probably the biggest caught to date out of Palm Tree, more than awesome... |
Tap of Bangkok Fishing Guide Service was back for his second trip of the month and managed to get his second Palm Tree Lagoon club t-shirt for the month this time with a 150lb+ Siamese Carp. In addition to this awesome catch his customers also caught wallago attu, Amazon and Thai redtailed catfish, mekong catfish and striped catfish. |
Andrew John Wakefield and Tim were out on the Mae Klong chasing the powerful giant freshwater stingray.Despite a slow start that included several stolen and bitten off baits, once they moved down stream towards the estuary as the tide receded the big girls finally came on the feed. |
Didier and Bang were back at Palm Tree for another session during the month catching some impressive fish like wallago leeri, Chinese bighead carp, a rarely caught vundu, a rare Salween catfish, an Atlantic tarpon and a good sized stingray. Andrew John Wakefield and Tim went up to Khao Laem Dam chasing after wallago attu and giant snakehead. Although they only managed one wallago attu the did manage to catch some stunning giant snakehead to over 6kg as well as some awesome yellow catfish and jungle perch. |

Although he didn't manage to land any giants Nick Peat who came to Palm Tree through Fish East Asia caught a large number and an extensive variety of species during his stay. Adam Griffin really wanted to catch a Siamese carp and in the end it was the Urban Baits Nutcracker popups to the rescue in the last hour of fishing. The popups also accounted for an awesome Chinese black carp. In addition he also caught pacu, giant featherback, albino striped catfish, mrigal carp,rohu, catfish shark, Amazon and Thai redtailed catfish. |
